Suggestions

As a new mod, there will likely be a few revisions coming to the comm here and there, and I would like your input on how best to change Bakerstreet for the better. So if you have a suggestion as to how to improve the community, please, let me know.

can i suggest more than one mod? that's what got us into this mess in the first place. i don't mean to imply that you're incapable, but i think everyone would feel better if we had at least one extra mod, if not two.

No offense taken, I assure you. I'm talking to two other people currently to possibly take on as additional mods, so that we as a comm don't find ourselves in the same situation we did with the last mod where one person disappeared and the whole comm fell into ruin.

That and, this is a big community for one person to try to take on by themselves!

I definitely think repeats should be limited to once a week at most. (I'd say two weeks except for TFLN, since that one's an established weekly Thing, but then people would bitch about TFLN getting special treatment...)

You're not the first to suggest this, and I do agree with you and the others who have mentioned this to me.

I think for the most part weekly is spaced out enough (except for some things like the rare muse meme and the game reunion meme, those should only be monthly at most), but there need to be better guidelines in place to discourage carbon copies of memes from getting posted in between.

I think non moderated meme posting is better than moderated meme posting.

I also think that trying to stop people from posting similar memes is not a very good idea, as one person may think two certain memes are almost identical, while another person thinks that they're actually very different.

Not all fantasy memes are the same, and neither are all smut memes or shipping memes, even if they may look that way to some people, just for some examples.

And I wouldn't want to discourage people from posting any of a particular kind (or anything so broad as an entire genre) of meme if someone's posted something similar, and I apologize if any of my earlier comments made it sound like I wanted to. Someone had made a good point about there being potentially too many rp overlaps between some specific memes like the Master/Slave meme, the Slave Auction meme, the Indentured Servant meme, etc that tend to get posted in clumps near one another.

But you make some good points as well, so thank you for giving me something to think about.

know what would be cool? the tfln meme have a "last page" link for easier navigation. think you could tell the posters?
